You own everything you made.
Copyright, files, sales data — and the money. This page is the plain-English version of how royalties work at My7DayBook. The Terms of Service control; this is what they say.
Two ways your book sells. Two answers.
On retailer accounts you set up yourself: 100% yours.
Amazon KDP, direct-to-Apple, direct-to-Kobo — if the retailer account is yours, every royalty those retailers pay goes to you. My7DayBook charges nothing on top of what those retailers pay you.
Through My7DayBook's channel accounts: 60% you, 40% us.
For editions we distribute through My7DayBook's own channel accounts, revenue is shared 60% to the author and 40% to MyBestSellingBook — whether the edition uses an ISBN we supplied or one you brought. The same split applies to sales made directly through the platform's own storefront when that feature launches.
The split is calculated on net channel receipts: what the channel actually pays after its printing costs, fees, returns, and chargebacks. We only share in what actually arrives.
Outside the platform: yours alone.
Books you publish yourself entirely outside the platform are yours alone. No royalty is owed to us on them.
How long the split lasts.
- Editions under an ISBN we supplied (from our Bowker pool): MyBestSellingBook is listed as the publisher of record for that edition, and the split applies for as long as that edition sells. The license covers that edition only — your copyright, and your right to publish other editions of the same work under your own ISBN, are untouched.
- Editions under your own ISBN: the split applies only while we distribute the edition. Withdraw it from our distribution at any time; future accrual ends and you can republish wherever you choose.
If you ever leave My7DayBook, you can download every file you need to keep managing your books elsewhere. Books on retailer accounts you set up yourself stay live, with royalties 100% yours. Editions distributed through our channel accounts keep selling under the split above.
Payouts.
- Royalty statements are provided, and payments go out after each quarter ends.
- Minimum payout threshold: $25. Balances under the threshold roll forward to the next quarter.
- Payouts require a completed tax profile (W-9, or the applicable W-8 for non-U.S. authors) and a payout method on file. We issue IRS 1099 forms where required. Amounts are paid in USD.
What stays yours, always.
- Copyright: yours, always. You retain 100% ownership of your intellectual property.
- Book files: yours to download and use anywhere at any time.
- Sales data: yours, always exportable.
- ISBNs: bring your own and you are the publisher of record. Use one from our Bowker pool and MyBestSellingBook is listed as the publisher of record for that edition — your copyright stays yours either way.
We are the platform. You are the author.
The controlling language.
This page restates the Terms of Service in plain English. If anything here reads differently from the Terms, the Terms control. Royalties and payouts are Section 12; ISBNs and publisher of record are Section 9.
